Meet Sarah

Design is in my blood. I am the granddaughter of an artist and daughter of a NYSID graduate on my Mother's side; my Father is a frustrated would-be professional horticulturalist whose family are the third generation owners of a preeminent American furniture manufacturer. It was probably fate.

• Before Design: Assistant Buyer at Saks, then Visual Merchandising at Carolee
• Why Design: it has allowed me to be creative and raise my 3 children at the same time
• Design Hero: Veere Grenney (living); Jed Johnson (not)
• If I Were a Color: chartreuse
• Personal Design Philosophy: "Who Threw This and Ran" with a little "Twisted Traditional" for good measure
• Every Room Needs: books
• Most Rooms Do Not Need: terribly expensive art -  even kids doodles framed well are pretty great
• Dream Project: my own vacation home
